June 2005 President's Message
Sheila Stanford
Dear Colleagues,
The chapter ’s biggest day is just around the corner. Fund Raising Day (June 24th at the NY Marriott) is still the largest one-day conference on fundraising in the country. More important than size is the quality of the program, which this year includes keynote speaker Dr. Reynold Levy, President of Lincoln Center. From branding and the use of the internet to major gifts and prospect research, Fund Raising Day ’s 10 tracks, plus workshops and roundtables offer you superlative educational and networking opportunities. Don ’t miss any of it—register online today ( www.frdny.org ).
In addition to planning for Fund Raising Day (a year-long endeavor that benefits from the leadership and dedication of more than 100 chapter volunteers, this year led by Myles Amend, General Chair), the chapter is making great strides in all its professional advancement efforts. Our newest educational offerings have been dubbed “mini-academies”, day-long, in-depth presentations on a single topic. Our first, held last month, covered direct mail campaigns for both large and small organizations. From the response of the more than 50 development officers who attended, this mini-academy was a resounding success. Look for our next, devoted to individual giving, in the fall.
In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you at Fund Raising Day on June 24th for what I know will be our best conference ever!
With best regards,

Sheila Stanford
