January 2005 President's Message
Sheila Stanford
Dear Colleagues,
Happy New Year! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the Holidays and have returned, batteries recharged, full of energy and renewed enthusiasm. (If not, fake it until you get to the next AFP event where you can rekindle your inspiration or borrow some from your colleagues!)
On your return, you should have received an email survey sponsored by the Greater New York AFP chapter, asking for your input on some important questions. I hope you took a few minutes to respond. Survey results will provide essential information to the chapter’s Board as part of its strategic planning retreat in late January. Key issues include service to members, future directions for professional education, outreach and effective communications. Your opinions, needs and interests will form the basis of our plans for the next 12-18 months. In addition, you will be entered in a raffle for a free ticket to Fund Raising Day in New York 2005 just for responding to our survey.
Enhancing your career by offering you the best in professional education, networking opportunities, timely communications and the support of your colleagues are important components of AFP membership. The Greater New York chapter board’s goal is to ensure that our offerings meet the needs of our members and fellow fundraisers. Please let us hear from you—your opinion counts!
With best regards,

Sheila Stanford
