Dear Colleagues,
 Congratulations to everyone who had the good sense to attend on June 25th, as well as to all who helped make the 25th anniversary of Fund Raising Day In New York such an astounding success, especially General Chair John Hicks and his Executive Committee, Myles Amend, Dianne Armstrong, Pat DeSibio, Patricia Foster, Marilyn Hoyt, Peggy Mathieu and Penny Stoil. Thanks, too, to all our Exhibitors and Sponsors for supporting this milestone for the Greater New York Chapter!
Fund Raising Day is the Chapter’s premier educational event, no doubt. And, as a former Vice President for Professional Advancement and Co-Chair of National Philanthropy Day myself, I thought I knew just how many additional opportunities for professional development this Chapter offers. But when I recently reread “A Profile of the Greater New York Chapter”, developed by our Vice President for Governance, Michael Washburn and his committee, I was very pleasantly reminded that this Chapter, with the aid of 33 Board members and 120+ volunteers, presents nearly 50 additional educational and networking opportunities annually for members and nonmembers conducted by more than 70 volunteer expert faculty and attended by over 2,000 members and nonmembers.
Here are just three more highlights from the long list presented in Michael’s “Profile”:
Volunteers, representing 17% of all Chapter members, donate over 5,000 hours/year to Chapter activities.
One hundred percent of Board members contribute to the financial support of the Chapter.
Scholarships to Fund Raising Day are awarded annually and totaled 20 this year.
