Patricia A. Moran, CFRE

September 18, 2007

Dear AFP Member:

We are pleased to announce that the Greater New York Chapter will be participating in the Chamberlain Scholarship Program for the AFP International Conference, which will take place in San Diego, CA from March 30 - April 2, 2008.

The scholarship program is a joint effort of the chapter and International AFP. The scholarship recipient will receive a $500 scholarship to cover the travel expenses for the conference from the chapter and a $500 registration credit from IAFP.

Each application must submit:

1. A copy of his/her institution’s tax exempt notification from the IRS.

2. Information regarding his/her institution’s programs and operating budget, e.g., an annual report, brochure or other documentation that describes the organization’s mission, goals, governing board and operating budget.  This information will be used to review the organization’s fundraising needs and its fiscal ability to support staff training.

3. A completed Scholarship Application including all required signatures. If signatures are missing, the application will not be considered by the Selection Committee.

4. A one page narrative explaining why the candidate should receive the scholarship and how you and your organization will benefit from attending the conference.

5. A resume.

6. Information regarding his/her service to philanthropy and the not-for-profit sector.

All candidates must be employed as a full-time fundraising professional for not more than five full years.  In addition, the candidate cannot have previously attended an NSFRE/AFP International Conference on Fundraising.

Please mail all materials to the chapter office, 211 West 56th Street, #7J, New York, NY  10019.  The deadline for applying for the scholarship is October 15, 2007 and you will be notified by October 31, 2007 if you have been awarded the scholarship.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Sincerely,

Patricia A. Moran, CFRE
